The Western Boot was established in 1983.
Its first dollar was received on May 25, 1983.
Mike Rochioli and Margie Sariavia partnered to get the place up and running. Margie had the experience with a long family history of running restaurants. Mike Rochioli on the other hand, had no experience in the business. He did, however, have the finances to open it and the carpentry skills to build it.
Mike, along with family and friends, did the work and opened the restaurant on the 25th for under $40,000! A nearly impossible feat -- even at those times!
Mike also was the big guy up front that everyone loved to come and see, his love of people was legendary, and he will be missed.
On October 8, 1983, Mike's son, Ken Rochioli came from Sandpoint, Idaho to help his dad. Ken had learned to cook at a five-star establishment called The Garden Restaurant.
Ken is continuing what his dad started 20 years ago. Quality foods, served with a friendly, professional staff and a large smile.
His goal is: Thinking Steak = Thinking The Boot!
